What is AutoBan ?

Autoban is a serverside plugin developed over the course of a few months to limit cheating on public

dedicated counter-strike source servers. Add your ip or steamid to the ab_admin cvar and bind ab_admin_menu

to access the admin menu. Have fun!

Q: Is there a list of cvars and commands ?

A: You mostly need to

ab_max_visibility_updates 32 Max visibility updates per frame.

Q: Why doesn't the menu system work for me or my other admins?

A: You or your admins will need to bind "ab_admin_menu" to a key to enable the menu pop up.

Q: I can't see the menu, please help!

A: You will need to add you and your admins (if you wish) to the ab_admin line in your autoban.cfg file.

Q: The cpu usage goes through the roof when I use autoban, what can I do ?

A: Autoban is more cpu dependent than other plugins. You can try to lower ab_max_visibility_updates to match

the capacity of your server. If your using -tickrate 66, you should divide by 2 the default value used

as your server has only half the time to update the visibility per frame.

Q: Will using this plugin get me VAC banned ?

A: No, AutoBan is a server side plugin and is therefore VAC2 compatible.

Q: Once the plugin is loaded, what do I need to do to make it work ?

A: Nothing, basically you don't *need* to change anything. You can change the cvars listed above to customize the way you ban cheaters, but it is not required. The only thing that is really required to change is the ab_admin in the autoban.cfg, this will allow you and anyone else to have access to the ab_admin_menu.

Q: Will AutoBan works with other server plugins ?

A: As long as these plugins do not affect significantly the gameplay, the answer is yes.

Q: Will Autoban ban someone for using server plugin features, like teleporting and no-clip?

A: Yes, these mod's significantly effect a players gameplay.
